1972 Robert E. Horton Award, 1973 Walter L. Huber Research Prize, 1980 J.C. Stevens Award, and 1999 Hans Albert Award from the American Society of Civil Engineers; 1972 Robert E. Horton Award from the American Geophysical Union;1983 Engineer of the Year Award from the National Society of Professional Engineers; 1991 IAHR/IHP Lecturer of the Year Award from the International Association for Hydraulic Research and the United Nations UNESCO International Hydrological Program; and 1986 Congress Gold Medal from the Pakistan Engineering Congress.

Two books, five computer model user’s manuals, and more than 100 professional publications in hydraulics, erosion, sedimentation, river morphology, river restoration, and engineering.
