Dr. Mumme received a B.A. and M.A. from Arizona State University in 1973 and 1975 respectively and a Ph.D. from the University of Arizona in 1982. His recent journal articles appear in Denver Water Law Review, Journal of Environment and Development, Globalizations, Global Society, Social Science Journal, Regions and Cohesion, Political Research Quarterly, Natural Resources Journal, Environmental Management, Environment, Latin American Perspectives, and Latin American Research Review. He is the author of more than 150 refereed journal articles and book chapters, various monographs, and co-author of Statecraft, Domestic Politics, and Foreign Policy Making (Westview 1988). His opinion pieces have appeared in the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, and other regional newspapers. Dr. Mumme sits on the editorial boards of Regions and Cohesion, International Journal of Sustainable Society, and Journal of Borderlands Studies. He is a past Fulbright Senior Scholar in Mexico and visiting professor at Colegio de San Luis Potosi. His recent research has focused on environmental and natural resources management in the U. S-Mexico border region and on the development of institutions for environmental management in Mexico and along the border. Graduate courses include Politics of Transboundary Rivers (POLS 692) and Comparative Environmental Politics (POLS 749).
