Mark Paschke is an Associate Professor and the Shell Endowed Chair of Restoration Ecology in the Department of Forest and Rangeland Stewardship. He also serves as Research Associate Dean in the Warner College of Natural Resources. He received his PhD in Biology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1993. He also has B.S. and M.S. degrees in Forestry from the University of Illinois. His research focuses on the mechanisms controlling community assembly in terrestrial plant communities. He currently teaches classes in Restoration Ecology, Ecological Restoration, and Disturbance Ecology
