Water Research Updates
In a 1963 speech to the Western Resources Conference, Colorado Senator Gordon L. Allott, in stated that “It is from the field of research that our hopes really spring… as our society becomes larger and in turn places greater demands upon this limited water resource, only research can be counted on to provide the answers which we must and will have for America.” A year later on July 12, 1964, President Lyndon Johnson signed into law the Water Resources Research Act of 1964, creating the state water institutes...
